Baggage allowances

There are a few simple things you'll have to remember to avoid your baggage becoming a headache when you get to the airport, so make sure your hand baggage and checked bag conform to the weight and dimensions below.

When flying with kulula, your ticket includes the following bag allowance:

Adults

• The checked bag allowance per travellers is dependent on the Branded Fares option selected at the time of booking and ranges from hand baggage only, i.e. no checked baggage with our ‘Fly Light’ fare option, 1 checked bag @ 20kg with our ‘Pack & Go’ fare option, or up to 2 checked bags @ 20kg each as part of our ‘Fully Loaded’ fare option. Please check your booking and refer to our Branded Fares information for more details on the different baggage allowances when travelling with us.

• One piece of hand baggage weighing up to 7kg plus one small handbag or a slimline laptop sized bag

• Extra bags can be purchased online at a discounted rate of 20% up to 24 hours prior to flight departure

Children (between 2 - 12 years old)

• The checked bag allowance per travellers is dependent on the Branded Fares option selected at the time of booking and ranges from hand baggage only, i.e. no checked baggage with our ‘Fly Light’ fare option, 1 checked bag @ 20kg with our ‘Pack & Go’ fare option, or up to 2 checked bags @ 20kg each as part of our ‘Fully Loaded’ fare option. • One free collapsible pushchair and car seat

• One piece of hand baggage weighing up to 7kg plus one small personal bag

Your flight may be operated by a different airline, which means different baggage rules may apply.

Hand baggage

• Travellers with any hand baggage exceeding these specifications will be sent back to check-in to purchase an extra 20kg bag at the airport for R410
• Please note that the slimline laptop bag must be of a size and thickness specifically designed to carry a laptop and charger only

Checked-in baggage

• If your bag weighs over 20kg but less than 32kg, a heavy bag fee of R330 will apply at the airport
• Bags weighing more than 32kg and are over the maximum dimensions of 208cm (90 cm (L) + 75 cm (W) + 43 cm (H)) each cannot be checked in and must be sent as cargo at your own expense
• If a bag is shared between two or more travellers, it must still conform to the 20kg limit per bag

Restrictions
